Nike Global Sourcing and Manufacturing teams create a complex and exciting mix of products including baseball bats, sunglasses, apparel, footwear, technical components like airbags and more. Description

Within the complex international distribution environment with a wide variety of service models, we are looking for a Market Compliance Ops Manager EMEA. You will report to the Global Director Packaging Services.

Manage Nike Geography Product Compliance Reporting (Better Processes)

• EMEA: Waste/EPR Ops Activities

o Create, validate and distribute waste reports as outlined in each countries third party reporting agreements, Includes packaging, waste electronics, batteries and product waste reporting

o Coordinate audit response inquiries with country managers and provide audit report backup information as required

o Support customer services teams in addressing customer issues and inquiries related to generation of customer packaging waste reports as required and/or requested

o Support waste reporting solutions administration as countries and regulations are implemented

o Review and monitor waste tax and fee obligations with country managers, reporting to WHQ as required.

o Coordinate with country finance, execution and internal audit of related tax and fee settlements

o Support monitoring Nike’s responsibilities under national and/or European lifecycle assessment Legs & Regs, in close cooperation with Legal and GPA, and support related functional teams as needed.

o Create with country resources a central repository for related regulatory body contacts, program registration confirmations and country contacts

Insure Nike Market Access (Better Processes)

• General Ops Coordination

o Provide executional guidance on and coordinate compliance related regional remedial activities authorized by Legal (e.g. localized digital &/or labeling communications, product diversions/holds) impacting market access issue resolution as agreed with Legal, to be executed by Supply Chain and other cross functional regional and global teams as required

Improve Nike market compliance (Better Processes)

• Supporting Geo/Country compliance obligations

o Provide business support to Global and GEO SME’s, Global and GEO GPA, SB&I and other relevant departments to assess impact, in consultation with Legal and GPA, and proposal for implementation of Legs & Regs in the area of product compliance in the broadest sense.

o Coordinate routine annual review of Geo/Country marking and labeling requirements with Legal and external counsel, insuring completion/update of related marking and labeling guidebook

o Develop and maintain general procedures (registration, reporting, financial), where needed involving relevant stakeholders such as Finance, Legal and Operations.

o Support global process controls (ie invoice sampling) geographically to assure compliance, as needed

Improve Nike Packaging & Labeling (Better Packaging/Product)

• Supporting Product development

o Support geographic product/package design discussions as required

o In close consultation with Legal and GPA, support the improvement of regulatory, customer and internal compliance, through improved visibility and coordination of requirements, along with corresponding educational activities for any geographic product design and development teams, suppliers, country and functional teams as needed

o Support global integrated product/packaging review processes and signoffs

o Support setting of product/packaging standards consistent with requirements and initiatives

o Monitor lifecycle, sustainability and waste reduction, marking & labeling and other compliance performance metrics in WE/CE in conjunction with global reviews

Support global process controls (ie product/package sampling) geographically to assure compliance

Establish Organizational Responsibility within the Supply Chain, Product Engines and Global Functions (Better People)

• Secure geographic support for team and mission

• Cooperatively set direction and priorities with global product compliance leadership

• Identify/maintain extended geographic/country stakeholder list, establish formal communications network

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, Business, Environmental Science, Industrial Design

• At least 5 years' work experience in product compliance area, e.g. proven track record in an advisory role relating to product compliance matters covering a variety of countries in Europe in a corporate, government and/or non-government organization.

• Advanced ability to collaborate with other project team members

• General project management and problem-solving skills

• Informative and persuasive in routine and adhoc communications

• Comfortable with supply chain, product/package development or environmental issues and concepts

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
