Description

The Air Manufacturing Innovation Finance team is undergoing a transformation to strengthen the foundation and elevate our current finance and business processes in support of strategic objectives. The Senior Accountant role will help ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results and financial performance that will enable fact based decision making and achievement of organizational goals. We have a dynamic and diverse team tasked to complete complex global projects which bring value to the business. We are looking for a self-starter with new ideas to enhance our team.

• Plan, coordinate and participate in all accounting functions (including Cash, Prepaids & Other Assets, Accruals, Intercompany, and Equity), ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and generally accepted accounting principles.

• Participate in monthly, quarter and year end close processes.

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to close schedule.

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Perform variance analysis, research anomalies and analyze complex financial reports/records.

• Maintain SAP systems, routine and project support.

• Maintain and drive continuous LEAN improvement, on owned processes to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness.

• Define and drive execution of functional best practices.

• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.

• Coordinate accounting projects and functional initiatives within Finance and /or cross functional teams.

• Participate in the review of monthly, quarterly, and annual operational results with business; continuously add value and be a credible and trusted business partner

• Develop collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and dimensions of the business

• Support of major plant initiatives, including LEAN manufacturing, and providing technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or in a directly related field or two additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in accounting, auditing or a related field.

• Diverse experience including national or large regional public accounting firm and combination of plant level and corporate finance preferred.

• Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations plus excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (close, reporting, etc.)

• Hands on manufacturing industry experience and LEAN manufacturing a plus.

• SAP experience is required.

• CPA preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.

• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.

• Ability to work collaboratively in matrix organization to maximize performance, problem solve and deliver results.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with leadership team

• Standout "can do" attitude and enthusiasm to drive Air MI forward
