Description

Merchandising provides Assortment direction that ensure a holistic, premium, differentiated and elevated marketplace experience to the consumer. Merchants drive the Brand vision across the integrated marketplace and collaborate with Global, Geo and Territory Merchandising partners as well as cross-functional partners to drive well-informed assortment strategies.

As a Merchandise Manager, you will display your skills in the following areas:

LEAD AND INFLUENCE

Bring the marketplace/category vision to life through brand leading, consumer focused and profitable assortments that deliver upon the financial targets each season.

Maintains a strong leadership position to drive x-functional collaboration and seasonal execution

Ensure consistency and on time delivery across all merchandising seasonal tools

KNOW AND SERVE THE CONSUMER

Understand and connect with the APLA consumers and competitive marketplace—online and in stores

Be able to read and interpret product performance and marketplace data to make fact-based and intuitive decisions

Influence the Global line plan, assortments, and allocations based on Marketplace/consumer insights

COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY

Communicate and present merchandising strategies, vision, and business results to cross functional teams

Collaborate, partner, and influence Geo and Global teams to build assortments that meet the consumer needs for each territory and key city

Build strong partnership and collaboration with territory cross functional teams to ensure that the consumer is driving all assortment decisions and that product arrives at the right time, right place, and the right quantity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field

  • Additional 2 years' experience in lieu of a degree

  • Minimum 8 years' relevant experience in product-related roles

  • Expert merchandising skills and thorough understanding of retail buying

  • Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude, and computer skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations

  • Experience with multicultural communication is preferred

  • Global experience is an advantage
