Description

As our Concept Creator, you'll collaborate with footwear innovation to explore, conceptualize, research, and ultimately engineer technically advanced prototypes for initial R&D conceptual product. You'll effectively define and communicate product details, features, construction requirements, and critical equipment and design criteria to our design, development and production partners as new techniques and processes are explored and transition from concept innovation to commercialization. You'll provide breakthrough ideas in collaboration with our Innovation partners. You'll translate design inspirations into a 3-dimentional product, through collaboration with core innovation teams. You'll create superior level concepts primarily for Footwear. You will fabricate and assemble new R&D concepts utilizing all resources and equipment on hand within the Concept Creation Center, not specifically inclusive of the following; Laser, Embroidery, Stitching, Assembly, Digital Printing, Digital cutting, and customized tools. You'll anticipate development and creation issues, suggesting alternative construction methods. You'll provide feedback on but not limited to: material choices, construction methods, file types, adhesion alternatives, etc. You'll work with multi-disciplinary teams including all of product creation and manufacturing pillars. In addition, you'll interact with pattern engineering, innovation, in-line, brand, specialty customization, in-house manufacturing, and overseas factory R&D centers. You’ll be immersed in a culture of hands-on problem-solving, and surrounded by a community of independent thinkers and autonomous doers. You’ll do your part to support and preserve that culture and, with your hard work and unique perspective, help to enhance and evolve it.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (2 years of additional relative work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)

  • Minimum 1 year’s relevant work experience, typically in engineering, development, and/or production

  • 5 or more years' relevant work experience preferred

  • Nike product process experience preferred

  • Proficiency in handcraft

  • Knowledge of footwear pattern engineering, cutting, stitching and assembly processes and operations preferred

  • Possess a clear understanding of product construction concepts including, but not limited to, Pattern Engineering, costing/quality implications, model making, part drawings, 2d drafting documentations, materials, design for manufacturing, sustainability awareness

  • Product design experience or related courses preferred

  • Competent with computers (experience with Adobe suite and/or other 2D design tools preferred)

  • Experience in R&D environment

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in local market language

  • Ability to share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate specific concerns to team and/or management
