Description

The geography EMEA communications team is part of the Global Communications function and creates and drives communications across the geography. This includes brand, issues, employee engagement, corporate & stakeholder communications.

This role will require setting a strategic vision and fully integrated communications strategy for the Paris organization to serve the business and our youth audience. Paris’s profile as a global city for Nike also means this role requires a strong ability to work in the broader Nike matrix and influence decision making at the city, geo and global level through extensive relationships. This role also requires broad experience in brand communications, corporate communications and employee engagement in addition to pinnacle media, city and influencer-based relationships.

The Nike Paris / North Communications Director role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Ability to drive impactful narratives that fully integrate storytelling and commerce to drive brand influence and impact.

  • Deep relationships with the most influential agenda setting media, influencer communities and youth of Paris

  • Lead an integrated communications strategy to amplify our brand storytelling and corporate narrative internally and externally.

  • Serve as a senior leader within the Paris organization to influence and provide strategic counsel across the business & specifically with the Paris LT

  • Fully leverage city, geo and global relationships to influence decision making and build the global impact of our Paris based storytelling.

  • Develop creative solutions that take our storytelling into new places, experiences and inspire the youth of Paris

  • Drive a communications directive that full serves and supports solutions across the Consumer Direct Offense business.

  • Ability to interpret emerging trends and connect Nike to high profile opportunities, partners and collaborators to drive brand distinction across the city.

  • Drive a mobile first and platform driven approach to storytelling…. create a culture of curiosity within your team and the broader business to drive business and brand impact.

  • Build and inspire a highly motivated team that’s passion about sports, culture and results orientated.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations.

  • Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures.

  • Experience initiating and driving the ideation process contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage.

  • Successful experience in working effectively at a high senior level brand management and a proven ability to help provide guidance and direction to peers.

  • On the ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular PowerPoint, Keynote preferred.

  • Strong written and spoken French and English required.

  • Experience leading Communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships.

  • Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape.

  • Knowledge of/experience in retail is preferred.

  • Experience working on high profile consumer brands is preferred.

  • Ability to Travel, 10-20%
