Description

As a Graphic Design creative in the Blue Ribbon Studio, the candidate will work across both the Studio and Culture & Community sides of our department.

The Blue Ribbon Studio Graphic Designer II will collaborate in the development of innovative information and graphic design solutions for BRS. You’ll utilize your proven ability to assist with ideation and concept development to create beautiful and useful communication design tools. (working in both a team environment and independently). This role develops tools, guides, websites, and printed content to support the BRS Studio School. You will also develop creative brand direction that connects designers to BRS and provides a consistent brand message and positioning. You’ll create, communicate and present design concepts to the team, leader and director. The candidate will also produce and/or coordinate the preparation of electronic files and related production documents and ensure timelines and budgets are met. It will be critical to develop working relationships with client groups, vendors and design consultancies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar, or an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience

• Proven application of design skills e.g. conception, drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, texture, spatial, visual presentation, media/website experience

• Presentation/speaking skills

• Demonstrated information design and/or communication design knowledge

• Demonstrated "systems" design knowledge, (i.e. visual centers, printed collateral, etc.)

• Maker Studio / Craft knowledge/insight

• Proficient in Risograph machinery

• Excellent working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Microsoft Office
