Description

As our Color Designer II, you'll work under the direction of the Color Design Leadership team and Category Design Leadership team to create innovative, retail-viable color design options for a line of apparel. You'll work with cross-functional groups such as Design, Product Marketing, Merchandising, Development, and Materials to focus color solutions for market success. Creating a merchandisable line from concept to retail presentation will include researching color, design, market and lifestyle trends that influence the color strategy, presenting the seasonal direction internally, executing and finalizing product details. In addition you'll maintain calendar/timelines/deadlines that result in a timely completion of each product.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Design, Art, Fashion or a related field

5-7 years' relevant work experience or an Associate's of Art degree from an accredited art school; 4 years' experience in a design environment working with colors, palette development and color trends

Deep understanding of fashion design including knowledge of visual design concepts, including color compatibility and color placement and a keen sense of materials and finishes

Ability to apply and perform design skills, including sketching, concept ideation, color theory and visual presentation

Knowledge of product design and development process

Familiarity with product manufacturing processes, including apparel materials and dyes

Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh computers and Photoshop, Free Hand and/or Illustrator; preferably in a Mac environment
