Description

Nike is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager for our Nike Norway and if required other entities, responsible for leading the accounting activities and executing all aspects of Financial Accounting, Reporting and Compliance at a managerial level. Your work is focused on short/long-term planning, operational effectiveness, and results. In this role you will report to the Nordics Accounting Manager based in Denmark.

  • Manages two Entitiesin the country – Wholesale & retail

  • Manages and monitorsthe complete month end accounting close process from journal entry through topreparation and subsequent analysis of monthly financial statements in a timelyand accurate manner, ensuring appropriate financial controls, procedures andefficiencies are in place

  • Monitors and preparesall key financial reconciliations and ensures compliance with the appropriatelocal and Company policies

  • Analyses financialrecords and reports to ensure they are in accordance with US Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles (GAAP) for management accounts and local AccountingStandards for statutory purposes.

  • Manages thepreparation of our external statutory accounts and the subsequent externalaudit process, including leading the coordination with our external auditors

  • Manages any InternalAudit and SOX compliance work with our Global counterparts

  • Ensures full taxcompliance for the company to incorporate corporation tax, VAT and payrolltaxes and interface with relevant tax experts in our European HQ. Includesensuring accurate and appropriate tax treatment in all areas, timely taxreturns and submissions, as partnering with our external tax advisors

  • remotely managing theperformance of 2 resources externally located in India that undertakes sometransactional finance work. The role requires continued project management ofthis external relationship and process optimization

  • Delivers and seeks outefficiencies and action plans for improving processes, integratingactivities, optimizing department resources with a focus on value addedactivity, and actively participate in roll-out of new tools, policies, orprocesses

  • Provides ad hocanalysis and reporting as requested from both the Finance Director and ourEuropean management team. Assist in elements of the budget and forecastingprocess and in providing information to leadership in support of managementdecision making

  • Participates in thedevelopment, implementation and maintenance of financial policies, proceduresand systems to ensure company policies are implemented, transactions areappropriately accounted for and reports and prepared and analyzed in a timelymanner

  • Taking an active rolein the Office management together with the strategic account director and theNorth leadership team

  • Working together as ateam within the Nordic countries

  • Act as a businesspartner / advisor to support other functions as they engage in projects whereControlling expertise is required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Finance and Accounting orsimilar and holds a Professional Finance qualification, preferably CA, CPA,ACA, ACCA

  • Minimum of 5 years extensive experience in accounting,ideally within industry

  • Good MS Office and financial system knowledge (SAPpreferable)

  • Strong intellect, results-orientated with a personalimpact and a sense of urgency

  • Proven track record of success and development inprevious roles

  • High integrity, transparency, authority and confidence

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in bothEnglish and Norwegian.

  • If required travel to the European Headquarters or otherEuropean office, or to the World Wide Headquarters in Oregon USA.
