Description

Global Brand Imaging, the newest creative team within Nike’s Global Brand Experience division, is seeking a Retouching Specialist to join our growing Post-Production team. You will work closely with the Lead Retoucher, On-Set Photography team and Production team to ensure expert quality and color consistency throughout all Nike digital content. The successful candidate must possess creative retouching experience, advanced compositing for both in studio and location photography. The position is full-time and located in Culver City, CA. All applicants must provide a portfolio that demonstrates technical proficiency in retouching, compositing and color correcting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain highest level of consistency and quality for all creative retouching assignments, seasonal location shoots, special projects etc.

• Edit in multiple color profiles and extensive composite work as needed

• Prepare, name, and archive all imagery according to production procedures.

• Communicate/Collaborate with Post Director, Art Directors and Photography teams.

• Manage workload to meet strict deadlines.

• Work with Lead Retoucher to monitor, report and improve workflow efficiency.

• Image Asset Proofing

• Adjust color of images to match product merchandise for both print and digital.

• Check and control quality and accuracy of technical specifications, digital output and naming conventions

• Retouching of digital images to customer specifications ; Performing image manipulations/edits as directed

• Color theory, color correction, RGB/CMYK color space and conversions

• Advanced masking, shadow creation, vignettes, silhouetting, layering, clipping paths etc.

• Artful eye; Creative approach to image manipulation

• Camera Raw file processing

• Track progress of all ongoing projects, version rounds and reporting data

• Maintain Image archive and digital asset organization in accordance with established studio processes

• Receive direction from Lead Retoucher on creative execution and project prioritization

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management and clients

• Ability to perform repetitive actions while retaining focus and reliability

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong and polished retouching skills – keen eye and aesthetic

• 3-5 years retouching in a studio environment

• Must be exceptionally detail-oriented and well organized

• Proactive and able to show initiative to foresee / resolve issues related to post workflow

• Expert knowledge of color theory

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines

• Self-motivated, resourceful, hardworking with a positive attitude

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Capture One experience a plus

• Must be competent with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Bridge)

• Must be proficient with Mac OS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop

• 3-5 years of experience working in a retouching studio, agency, or photography production environment

• Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office software

• Ability to retouch a wide range of product and on figure images that involve complex cleanup and color correction

• Degree in Photography, Digital Arts or Graphic Design
