Nike Supply Chain experts ensure that every year 900 million pieces of footwear, apparel and equipment arrive at the right destination on time. That’s no easy task. Data is one of the strategic forces underpinning Nike’s vision. Data driven insights are a competitive advantage for Nike and an essential part of the Service we provide to our Consumers. Creating these insights requires Analysts that relishes the challenge of pioneering advanced analytics in Supply Chain and Logistics, while also collaborating to build best practice across the global Nike Data Science community.

What are we looking for:

The insights analyst will help to identify Logistics operational and strategic improvement opportunities, built on a foundation of understanding business operations:

• Trend / macro analysis to discover opportunities and drive strategy

• Causal analysis to tackle root cause and create tactics

With the guidance of a seasoned data scientist and with the help of analytically minded colleagues, you will:

• Discover business needs and answer complex business questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on available data or designing and running experiments to gather data.

• Develop applications of classification, forecasting, simulation, optimization, and summarization techniques.

• Work cross functionally with operators, decision makers and peers.

• Create compelling interactive visualizations to enhance decision making.

• Work across the full lifecycle; SQL data preparation, R or Python analyses, presenting results and convincing your stakeholders with your advice, industrializing new capabilities into business process.

Qualifications

You will work with Reporting and , Performance Management colleagues to provide decision-makers with useful metrics, insights, predictions and analytics products – while coaxing the business along on a cultural change journey.

We are looking to complement this team with an analyst passion for advanced analytical techniques, data handling, statistical modelling, machine learning techniques, and/or coding with the soft skills to influence stakeholders and create tangible business impact. It would be advantageous for candidates to have as many of the below skills, though not all are expected:

• Advanced quantitative degree (Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science or related field) with a minimum of 6 months of related practical experience – preferably in a commercial workplace

• Demonstrated technical, analytical skill set to work with analytics toolkit (R, Python, SQL, Hadoop, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Tableau, scheduling tools) on large data sets

• Experience operating and maintaining production analytics systems and models at enterprise scale, preferably prior experience in supply chain, logistics, and/or consumer goods industries

• Proven aptitude to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypothesis and make recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences

• Knowledge of data mining algorithms such as decision trees, probability networks, clustering, regression and neural networks 


• Strong understanding of database structure, design, query languages, fundamental of mathematics, large data sets distributed systems and stats concepts 


• Experience in experiment design, analysis & quality checking

• Result-driven, pragmatic and persuasive

• Good written and verbal communication skills (English)

• Familiarity with agile development methodology
