Description

As the Lead Database Engineer for TechOps Europe you will play an instrumental role in tuning the SQL technology stack within Nike while continuing to improve on the success we enjoy. You will provide the Infrastructure Support team with database expertise, reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Support, consisting of 2 local and offshore database professionals. Establish and maintain 24/7 operations, combining local and offshore resources in a follow-the-sun model. Work in close coordination with the Database Architecture and Automation Director to ensure best practices are maintained and we are fully utilizing automation for our teams and the teams we support.

Scope and Responsibilities:

As the Lead DBA, your role on the team will include

  • Efficient Management of the Enterprise DatabaseEnvironment

  • Collaboratewith the DB operations team to provide 24x7 support

  • Leadthe necessary efforts needed to help improve the performance of the databases.

  • Collaboratewith global Storage and Backup/Recovery team

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years directly relevant work experience.

  • SQL Server

  • Experience with SQL Database 2012/2014/2016 on Windows Server 2008/2012.

  • Public cloud-deployment achievements of Oracle on AWS and SQL Server on Azure.

  • High Availability / Disaster Recovery framework: AlwaysOn, Failover Clustering.

  • Backup and Recovery tools (RMAN, DataPump, Export/Import, DataGuard).

  • PL/SQL programming experience.

  • Backup and Recovery tools

  • Oracle DB

  • Database 11.X/12.X on Oracle Enterprise Linux or Redhat Linux 6/7.

  • High Availability / Disaster Recovery framework: Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid and Clusterware.

  • Proven track of leading a team of engineers

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of database internals and inter-related components.

  • Work laterally across peer groups to achieves deliverables.

  • Implement database security measures as needed - monitoring, auditing, encryption, masking.

  • Remediate and prevent if possible performance problems.

  • Demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills.
