Description

We are looking for a Nike Direct Communications Director for our EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) geography who can help lead our communications strategy internally to employees and directly to our store staff (more than 1000 stores around the world) and externally to media, through compelling storytelling.

This role will set the strategic vison and framework for EMEA Nike Direct communications, reporting to the VP/GM Nike Direct, EMEA and to the global Nike Direct Communications team. The role has both an external focus – delivering stories on our retail and digital innovations, and internal - creating and driving strategic communications that connect to our remote workforce in our stores. This role will have three direct reports.

Key responsibilities include:

Internal

  • Leadinggeography store communications strategy, including employee engagement,storytelling & best in class store communications.

  • Leadingexecutive communications strategy and Nike Direct messaging and strategicplanning for the communications function in geography

  • Leveragingcategory game plan to maximize opportunities with brand category programming toelevate internal and external storytelling

External

  • Leadingand driving storytelling externally to media on our physical and digitalinnovations for Nike Direct in the geography, in partnership with global NikeDirect communications and the geo communications team

  • Workingclosely with the overall Geo communications team on digital innovations andlaunches - identifying key storylines and driving external media engagement

  • SupportingNike Direct issues management related to stores and the business in closepartnership with Global Nike Direct Communications and the geographycommunications lead.

Qualifications

  • At least 10+ years professional experience in high profilecommunications or public relations roles supporting globally brandedorganizations

  • Knowledge of/experience in retail (physical and digital)communications.

  • Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrixon a corporate, geographic and functional basis, including presenting beforeaudiences of various sizes and cultures.

  • Experience initiating and driving the ideation processcontributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the wider business

  • On the ground media/PR experience with ability tocommunicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera.
