Description

The Lead Systems Cloud Analyst / Engineer is responsible for the migration, tools, monitoring, and metrics required for Converse cloud infrastructure hosted by third parties. We are looking for someone with skills in Operations who can interface with engineering, and who doesn’t shy away from a collaborative work environment.

This position will require a big picture view of application hosting - from server performance metrics to real-user monitoring; as well as, a knowledge of tools, processes, and code that monitors application health.

Responsibilities

Ensure all cloud environments meet best-practice standards for security, scalability and functionality.

Monitoring production health and working in collaboration with IT Product Owners, Nike IT, MS AZURE and AWS to resolve infrastructure issues including remediation of risk.

Manage and maintain an automation framework centered around rapid, scalable, and predictable server provisioning. Assist in Setting up and supporting the network, development, QA and Prod environments.

In collaboration with the TechOps production support teams, improve the processes around escalating and coordinating responses to production health issues.

Collaborate with product development teams to deploy new services and capabilities.

Build and improve tools for monitoring and system management. Report on metrics associated with expense and usage by leveraging the cloud providers’ dashboard functionality.

Independently drive projects to completion. Understand how and with whom to work with, to complete an assignment.

Proactively recognize and coordinate the fix for problems with application load and scalability.

Inform the company leadership of production health status and ongoing issues.

Ability to document and explain complex cloud environments to technical and non-technical stakeholders. A desire to “automate everything” and “document everything”.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of commercial cloud technologies, trends, and practices. Specific experience with AZURE and AWS desired.

  • Prefer understanding of some of the Internet based technologies (DNS, Security, IP Routing, SSH, FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, Email Routing, etc), Network protocols (TCP/IP) and DNS, Encryption (PKI, SSL/TLS).

  • Knowledge of Network Security Groups/Security best practices in Azure and AWS are a plus

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical domain or equivalent practical experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in software development or IT organizations

Qualifications
