Everything begins and ends with the consumer for Converse. As a part of the DTC Brick & Mortar Team & reporting into the Sr. Manager of Business Operations, the Sr Business/Store Planner will support the B&M operating plan by focusing on building & evolving the required toolset needed to execute “Segment to Serve” and “Keep the Marketplace Clean”. Relentlessly focused on revenue, margin, and KPIs in a segmented store group, this role will continue to dimensionalize the data universe to effectively establish, measure, and report on business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

SUPPORT “SEGMENT TO SERVE” OPERATING PLAN

  • Pre-season planning . Create an actionable seasonal revenue & margin plan by segment that aligns with our annual operating plan objectives through store KPI’s (traffic, ADPT, Conversion, UPT) and bottoms up store forecasting. Analyze product mix and cluster/door performance to insure plan meets established targets. Collaborate & iterate the plan with internal and external partners. Actively communicate insights and action plans throughout the pre-season period.

  • In-season Planning . Optimize and execute the seasonal plan with cross functional partners (allocation, buying, finance). Support monthly forecast process to ensure appropriate actions to optimize the plan’s execution. Reforecast KPI’s as needed based on trends & business requirements.

  • Post-season Planning . Create and deliver each segments season review. Analyze KPI, product and cluster/door performance for the season, pulling together a comprehensive review of the segments performance against their objectives and financial targets.

  • Provide Insights to Drive Action. Analyze sell thru performance and inventory levels in key product categories to inform investment strategy and read and react options. Partner with merch planning to drive test and learn process through promotions and pricing to understand critical levers within the segmented fleet. Leverage Nike reporting to understand and report Converse performance relative to same locations. Ensure alignment of targets, data and methodology across Brick & Mortar planning and analytics team.

CLOSEOUT LIQUIDATION INTELLIGENCE (KEEP MARKETPLACE CLEAN)

  • Closeout Liquidation Intelligence . Develop tools to enhance intelligence on closeout planning, pricing strategy, and promotional effectiveness to optimize margin & unit velocity. Maintain closeout supply dashboard to monitor performance to plan and inform adjustments in strategy.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or equivalent.

  • 3-5 years of buying, store planning, business planning, and/or merchandising footwear experience required.

  • Good working knowledge of the footwear & apparel industry and trends in the marketplace

  • Must be results orientated and make constant progress towards achieving goals.

  • Must be able to develop an understanding of the customers, competitors and retail trends.

  • Experience using sales financial data to make decisions and maximize segment profitability.

  • Experience developing and recommending segmented assortments.

  • Advanced Excel skills as well as other data and analytics tools including Access and Tableau.

  • Must have the ability to persuade and influence people to take desired action.

  • Must have good communication skills, including the abilities to elicit information, actively listen, dialogue freely, and verbalize ideas effectively.

  • Communicate effectively with clear, concise written messages through memos, e-mails and reports. Presentation skills also essential.
