Description

As an Associate ProductDeveloper , you will provide project and process management within Converse Footwear Product Development. You'll lead the individual project creation, converting a project brief and a two-dimensional design rendering into three-dimensional samples that meet the needs of the team and the consumer and that can be successfully and profitably commercialized and produced.

You will manage the product creation process from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned models to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals. You'll also actively participate in meetings with Design and Product Marketing during all phases of the product development process and execute the decision making process that leads to on-time concept confirmation and sample delivery. You will also work cross functionally and collaborate with CTS, Materials Development, Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Costing teams to effectively execute product development goals and deliverables.

You'll create and revise appropriate documentation for assigned products; ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and sample prototype notes. You will also effectively select and use the most appropriate communication tools to successfully manage the development process.

You'll develop a solid understanding of category best practices to identify and addresses key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plans accordingly to deliver proven and tested product. Monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.

Keep abreast of market trends, Segments goals, new technology and consumer needs throughout the development process and engage appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years’experience in footwear product development.

  • The key to this position is a Developer with apassion to innovate and a passion for footwear. Someone who thinks outsideof the box and is willing to look at new ways to solve problems. Aperson who will develop processes and manufacturing techniques to solve aproblem. Detail oriented with strong working knowledge of footweardevelopment, commercialization, and manufacturing.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be ableto communicate clearly and concisely with overseas office development personnelon a daily basis via e mail and phone.

  • Self-motivated with strong decision makingcapabilities. Individual must also be team oriented and willing to step inwhere needed. Dates and Gates management is critical to success

  • Individual must be proficient on a PCwith knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Office, Outlook.Illustrators, Photoshop, 3D Software are a plus.

  • Overseas travel is required on a seasonalbasis. 2-3 trips to our Asia office each year is normal. Some domestictravel is also required for trend trips and competitive shopping.Office or large flexible cube workspace environment.
