Description

Executes the creative vision for category and cross-category Brand initiatives through Brand Design in a way that supports premium Nike Brand consumer experiences, the Nike Brand Ethos and Maxims. Elevates the consumer brand experience through superior brand appearance of product, communications, collateral materials, digital and retail.

FOCUS:

Focuses on the consumer facing Brand experience of product, communication, digital, retail and collateral materials. Designs and directs all aspects of the look and feel of Brand experiences at all end-in-mind consumer touch points in partnership with Brand Marketing, Categories, and Global Design. Acts as a creative shepherd of the Nike Brand.

ACCOUNTABILITES:

• In collaboration with an Art Director, Design Director or Creative Director, utilizes exceptional design skills and demonstrate innovation to create original design solutions that develop and drive innovative 2D and 3D design solutions for consumer experiences: graphics, retail, digital.

• Creatively contributes to directives that establish design foundation for specific business segments or initiatives. Develops expertise against a specific Brand priority, Brand driver or business category.

• Creates presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts to team, leader, director and to various internal and external audiences.

• Helps lead design efforts for projects and work assignments. Works with Brand Design leadership and Brand Marketing partners to ensure feasibility of designs, budget, functional needs (digital, retail, brand comms.) and overall program needs.

• Demonstrates expert-level knowledge of current trends in color, technology, communications, experience, art and other design influences. Shares knowledge, experience and skill with other design staff; works with design counterparts to ensure continuity across initiatives, categories, and projects. May lead projects, establish direction and manage designers on a per project basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic, Architectural or Industrial Design, with minimum of 8+ years of progressive technically sophisticated design experience.

• Proven exceptional ability to apply and perform design skills, including concepting, drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, texture, and spatial design in scale, visual presentation development and layout. Demonstrated ability to apply these skills in innovative ways that elevate Brand excellence.

• Knowledge of and sensitivity to current trends in color, design, art, photography and experience design and their application to the athletic industry.

• Demonstrated high level expertise using computer design applications including Adobe Creative Suite.

• Strong oral and written communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations to senior management.

• Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives and effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to work cooperatively with staff, share ideas and develop effective responses. Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and geographies. Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment. Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes.
