Description

As our Lab Specialist, you will be working in a lab environment to support Apparel Product Integrity. You will work alongside Technicians and Engineers to provide technical support related to the operation of the lab and to testing of new products and technologies.

Your primary role will be to intake new projects for the lab and schedule the projects with the team. This includes inventory of all test samples, confirm requested tests are available at the Nike Apparel Lab, confirm requested tests are appropriate for materials, test equipment availability, estimate time required to complete preparation / testing, estimate a time for completion, assigning project to technicians and engineers, and additional activities to support the lab function within the Apparel Division.

Additionally, you will conduct routine and durability testing on prototype and development test articles. You will demonstrate an ability to work in a fast paced and quick changing environment with occasional overtime required. You will collect data, document work/record observations, enter data into database systems, and compile information and evaluations. You will utilize standard scientific methods for troubleshooting and problem-solving issues.You must complete work with little supervision, in a timely manner and be a self-starter.

Key Responsibilities are:

·Intake and Scheduling:

  • Oversight and execution of intake/receipt process andassignment of NAL projects.

  • Communicate with our Nike Partners about the assignment ofprojects.

·Testing

  • Execute apparel test methods on materials and garments andreport results.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position include:

  • Bachelorsdegree and a minimum of 1 year work experience with laboratory work or atechnical background, also experience with textiles is preferred; orAssociates degree + 2 yrs or High School diploma or equivalent + 3 yrs

  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills,

  • Highly collaborativeindividual- ability to develop strong working relationships with internaland external resources.

  • Strongattention to detail, highly organized, and multi-tasking skills

  • Managemultiple information streams and tasks

  • Abilityto work quickly under times of pressure and, at times, with some ambiguity

  • Functionswell in a rapidly changing environment

  • Mathskills required

  • Provenability to learn different software platforms, including familiar withWindows based software including Word and Excel.

  • Mechanicalaptitude and physical ability to perform testing on lab equipment
