RESPONSIBILITIES:

Today’s consumers demand more than just great product. They expect to be able to customize everything to fit their individual preferences, integrated seamlessly into amazing experiences. As Nike’s Associate Product Director – NIKEiD Customization Capabilities, you will drive competitive distinction for Nike by owning the technology services which power NIKEiD product customization experiences across all direct-to-consumer channels.

As part of the Nike Digital Engineering team, your services are used by multiple web and app teams to deliver footwear and apparel customization experiences across all consumer touchpoints. You will own the feature roadmap for these services - leading the end-to-end discovery, design, development and delivery of capabilities that enable strategic business initiatives. You have an analytical mindset and are continually assessing your product for value and prioritizing features to align. You can manage through complex technical challenges and tradeoffs, using advanced analytics and qualitative research to support your point of view.

You are a great collaborator – you will proactively build trusting relationships across the Nike Direct organization to inform your roadmap, including functional partners and geography teams. Key internal partners include NIKEiD, Converse Custom, Nike.com, Web Operations, Nike and SNKRS app teams, and Elite Client Services. You can bring these individuals together to define and prioritize new features to unlock lasting value for Nike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product roadmap definition: Develop a product roadmap based on a clear understanding of consumer needs and in-depth data analysis. Articulate clear value drops and how they impact our consumer and internal partners. Drive and prioritize the product roadmap in partnership with other Nike Direct teams and stakeholders.

  • Prioritization: Effectively design project plans based on priorities, set clear/measurable objectives and deploy team resources appropriately to achieve business goals.

  • Product lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a product from conception to implementation. Build and maintain the product backlog and ensure that it is constantly prioritized to ensure the delivery of features with maximum business value.

  • Manage delivery challenges and define pilot/rollout strategies. Make thoughtful decisions on the fly, constantly clearing roadblocks to getting your product live.

  • Agile Management: Lead a product squad composed of multidisciplinary team members. Create and document user stories for implementation. Participate in scrum team meetings and provide advice, clarification, and guidance during the execution of each sprint. Inspect and accept completed work at the end of each sprint.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business strategy teams to bring your product to life. Remove obstacles and help the team navigate and align the organization to optimize success.

  • Analytics and Experimentation: Develop and measure clear product KPIs, derive key insights, and devise and execute proof-of-concept executions to learn. Develop metrics to measure success and ensure ability for on-going monitoring of post-launch results through analysis and reporting.

  • Industry Analysis: Continuously monitor and share emerging technology trends, competitive experiences and best-of-breed customization executions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in software development

  • Seasoned product manager with 5+ years of digital product background. Proven success stories in launching customer-facing digital products end-to-end with measurable outcomes. Experience bringing digital experiences to life preferred.

  • Demonstrated success working with various, cross-functional, internal and external groups to deliver meaningful results on time and on budget with limited direction. Examples of successful working relationships and processes with engineering, design and product teams.

  • Proven ability to develop, communicate and gain consensus on a product roadmap for a customer-facing digital product. Experience managing priorities with key partners and third-party vendors.

  • Strong analytical skills with supporting examples of using metrics in all aspects of the product lifecycle.

  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high growth environment. Results-driven with the ability to anticipate needs, innovate, multi-task. Nimble and flexible with regards to changing priorities & business needs.

  • An assertive, direct communication style, with the ability to inspire and motivate others across the company. Collaborative, energetic and hands-on team player. Strong communication and “story-telling” skills – ability to articulate a vision or concept in simple terms to a broad audience at every level.

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred.

  • Ability to work in JIRA, Confluence, New Relic and Adobe Analytics
