Nike Supply Chain experts ensure that every year 900 million pieces of footwear, apparel and equipment arrive at the right destination on time. That’s no easy task. The complex process involves more than 50 distribution centers, a network of thousands of accounts, and more than 100,000 retail stores around the world. Supply Chain professionals from Laakdal, Belgium, to São Paulo, Brasil, make it happen. They constantly push for ways to make Nike’s supply chain faster, more efficient and more responsive to Nike’s always-changing consumer needs.
Demand and Supply Management (DSM) is a critical enabler of Nike’s Triple Double strategy. Through one integrated planning process, DSM obsesses consumer demand to drive profitable growth from assortment forecasting through responsive supply planning and inventory optimization for the mutual benefit of Nike and our partners. Under Global Operations, the DSM team focuses on demand planning, supply and inventory planning, Nike Direct and Sales retail planning, S&OP, and advanced marketplace and planning analytics, delivering innovative planning capabilities to make faster and better business decisions.
As one of our Strategic Initiatives Managers, you will lead and participate in the design, development and successful implementation of key DSM and Nike initiatives. You will collaborate with the entire DSM team to identify, prioritize, and then execute DSM strategic priorities. You will also work across the matrix with stakeholders from the whole organization, from OPS to Finance, Merchandising, Geographies, Nike Tech, and major initiative teams.
Strategic Initiatives Managers lead capability evolution. Depending on the initiative, the Strategic Initiatives Manager will lead or partner with DSM and other stakeholders to create the future. Experience with strategic planning, process improvement, project and change management is required. Evolutions often require technology and systems, so a high degree of technical comfort and willingness to learn and adapt will be required.
Strategic Initiative Managers must be adept at communicating across all levels of the matrix to relay process or project vision, explain potential and realized benefits, and lead problem solving discussions. You will need to work across the matrix to increase awareness of initiatives, as well as understand impacts to various business functions and incorporate their feedback.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration,Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field of study
5 years' experience inproject management or business analyst/consultant role withinPlanning/Inventory, Product Creation, Logistics, or related Supply Chainarea as a key player in business process analysis, requirementsdefinition, solution design preferred
3 years' experience inDemand Planning, Distribution, Sales, Logistics, or related Supply Chainrole preferred
Ability to adapt in anambiguous and ever changing environment
Demonstrated effectivecommunication skills in a variety of formats for diverse audiences. Crosscultural experience would be an asset
Proven ability tosuccessfully lead and influence virtual teams comprised of all levels ofthe matrix
Lean root cause problemsolving, decision making experience and ability to think "outside thebox" and apply new thinking to the Planning process
