As our Senior Event Planner, you will collaborate with key business partners and/or external clients as well as other WHQ Meetings & Events (WHQME) teams to design and execute high-level, complex employee- and/or consumer-facing meetings and events that take place at Nike World Headquarters (WHQ), including conference centers, extended WHQ buildings, and occasional offsite locations.
You will be the primary contact for assigned meetings and events, ensuring client and attendee needs are met or exceeded. You will apply expertise to clients in enhancing presentation and event standards for large-scale, complex meetings and events, providing in-depth consultation services in the event planning process to include but not limited to budgeting, agenda/run-of-show development, space set-up, audio visual components, product/exhibit display, and travel arrangements. You will obtain competitive quotes and bids for equipment and services, and provide cost estimates to the client; communicate and support usage policies, procedures, and cost impact to the client; and assist the client in managing and finalizing event budgets.
You will interface with WHQME teams and event services partners, both internal and external, in the coordination of venue meeting logistics, timely event order creation and management, and post-event review and financial reconciliation. You will maintain high standards for customer service to clients and presentation excellence for meetings and evens while protecting the Nike Brand. You will recommend improvements to the event service process to ensure a successful meeting and event environment.
Bachelor's degree in events/hospitality and/or related field ispreferred.
At least 4 years' event management experiencein a hotel conference or conference center is preferred.
Superior interpersonal and customer serviceskills.
Excellent experience planning and cateringspecial events and food/beverage functions.
Strong organization, networking, andcommunication skills.
Able to clearly and concisely communicate anddevelop relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors.
Strong priority- and time-management skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule driven byevent business needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and occasionalholidays.
Advanced skills in meeting managementsoftware (EBMS - Event Business Management System) preferred but not required.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office productsincluding Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel to/from event locations/venues including thoseoutside of WHQ, as needed.
Able to lift and transport at least 20-30 lbs.of weight.
