Nike Finance employees play a key role in that progress by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to drive value for every Nike shareholder. They manage accounting and reporting for Nike’s multi-billion-dollar global investment portfolio, debt and equity instruments, and other Treasury activities. They strategize, forecast, audit, analyze, budget, research and lead important decisions. Across Nike’s diverse geographies and businesses, Finance employees deliver far more than just the numbers.
Owning the process of analyzing and reporting / creating compelling insights on end to end performance ranging from Planning to consumer sell through,
Maintaining, communicating and continuously improving period scorecard / dashboards; keeping track of both the NIKE performance as well as account performance, to ensure business goal are met,
Evolve insights to be(come) predictive and prescriptive in their nature,
Performing seasonal trend analyses that are helpful to assess product assortment, account base, etcetera. Utilizing trend information to identify future opportunities and/or reduce NIKE and/or account inventory risks,
Assisting in ad hoc decision making processes around account prioritization, product allocation and inventory management by analyzing the market sell through and inventory information,
Presenting above mentioned insights to relevant stakeholders in NIKE territory organizations, European Headquarters and World Headquarters when required,
Providing input into the account plans to drive growth with accounts throughout Europe by creating a fact based point of view on opportunities and threats in the marketplace,
Working with account and territory teams in pro-active in issue identification, and play an active role in the resolution process. To provide direction for process improvement for Nike to Retailer replenishment processes,
Working closely with the account and territory teams to grow and streamline Responsive Business for these accounts,
Prioritizing and escalating challenges impacting current or future business supported by NIKE and marketplace data and qualitative feedback,
Being a true team player who is not afraid to carry more than their own weight when required and is able to motivate others and drive change when needed.
Expected (personal) development in the role:
Mature AA’s reporting and analytics, but above all insights into the Nike AA business. Streamlining this process through ensuring all relevant insights are easy to digest by relevant stakeholders within various functions (Operations, Sales, Merchandising, …) and in the end contribute to how NIKE’s Responsive Business is managed and performs in the market,
Develop into the fact based pivot point between Planning, Operations, Sales and Merchandising. Drive joint decision making processes through fact based and compelling recommendations,
Link up with counterparts across the NIKE organization to exchange experiences, methods, results, and share / develop best practices.
University (Bachelors or Masters) or HBO (hoger beroepsonderwijs) degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related field,
1-3 years working experience in one or more of the following industries: Business Consulting, Sporting Goods, Fashion, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Retail
Fluency in English (both spoken as well as written) – other languages are an asset,
Knowledge: demonstrated thorough knowledge of commercial and operational workings of a product replenishment sales model. Understanding of the European retail landscape and retail mechanisms and profitability models,
IT: Experienced in using Cognos, Tableau, Alteryx and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills),
Cognitive: strong analytical skills combined with the ability to visually present solutions to complex challenges in simple ways. Ability to solve complex process problems creatively while keeping NIKE’s strategic direction in mind. Solid time management and organizational skills for self and potentially others,
Interpersonal: strong interpersonal skills with focus on the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Able to build and sustain supportive matrix and external relationships. Good listener. Demonstrated effective communication skills both orally and written; solid presentation / story telling skills.
