Reporting directly to the Director of e-Commerce EMEA, the e-Commerce Buyer will be responsible for driving online sales growth and product efficiency for one of the most iconic brands in the world. In this start-up role you will be creating, maintaining and managing product assortments, product revenue and product margin targets for the EMEA Converse.com business.
Develop a product assortment strategy for Converse.com across footwear, apparel and accessories in order to achieve ideal online product assortments and create premium consumer-centric offerings;
Work with EMEA Merchants and Global DTC / ecommerce buying & merchandising teams to create an aligned approach for seasonal buying;
Influence the development of planning, buying and merchandising processes, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure that Converse.com has the right product in the right quantity to meet consumer demand;
Develop and execute seasonal product lines and buys to deliver and exceed seasonal targets for product revenue and profitability;
Align with Brand Marketing to ensure seasonal product assortment supports key brand stories;
Develop monthly forecasts of sales & inventory for all styles and execute strategies to meet financial goals. You'll manage necessary forecasts for open-to-buy process.
Communicate seasonal buying strategy, product assortments, buys and product performance to cross- functional and merchandising business partners;
Communicate frequently with Planning & Allocation and Site Merchandising teams to share business updates and partner on the integration of buying with the planning, allocation and site merchandising processes;
Develop methods for analyzing product performance and results of previous buying strategies and make tactical adjustments to leverage opportunities for increased profitability.
Educate and coach Merchandising, Planning and Allocation teams in e-commerce and serve as a source of knowledge they can tap into.
Degree educated with 5 years' experience in footwear or apparel buying with a multiple retailer.
2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree;
Passion for Converse brand;
Ability to solve complex problems; take a new perspective using existing solutions;
Excellent knowledge of MS Windows applications, particularly Excel;
Strong knowledge of process-flow through supply chain;
Effective verbal & written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations in English;
Proficient information seeking skills and drive for results;
Ability to share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
Great commercial & industry acumen, especially in the areas of Retail Math and Theory
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Self starter mentality and enjoys working in a fast paced environment
