Nike’s Consumer Digital Technology group seeks a Scrum Master with a proven track record of delivering world-class products within complex digital environments to advance our platform and applications. Our ideal candidate will bring a broad range of lean and agile experiences working within large-scale organizations with specific knowledge working with digital technologies and processes at scale.
Accountable for team culture
Culture of continual process improvement
Upholds scrum values (focus, openness, commitment, courage and respect)
Owns Stories moving through the workflow and reduce WIP (cycle time)
Ensures a plan to resolve any blockers is put in motion and executed
Checkin multiple times a day with owners of each outstanding blocker to ensure it gets fixed
Holds all disciplines accountable (ensure stories are not blocked / ready for a sprint)
Stories are all testable and independently deliverable
Stories can be completed by a single developer in a single sprint
Responsible for establishing a reliable team velocity
Ensure the estimation method used allows for estimations to remain constant while velocity becomes variable
Ensure scope is not changed within a sprint
Create a baseline velocity & report on velocity each sprint
Elevate potential process problems and constraints to the team
Ensure stories get moved through the workflow in a timely manner
Informs team members to make them aware when they have an action item and calls out irregularities (1 point story in dev for 5 days) to the team to ensure work is moving as quickly as possible.
Set KPI’s with team for cycle time in each column
Cycle time and workflow analysis
Average time in each work column
Average story full cycle time
Cycle time broken down by story points
Identify root causes of back flow in the process
Have work columns that enable the tracking of any idle time or back flow
Run and facilitate the scrum ceremonies
Measure the health of the team
5+ years of relevant IT experience including strong understanding of customer/stakeholder relationships, business analysis, prioritization, estimation and capacity management
Must have a thorough understanding of iterative/incremental software development
Complete understanding of agile processes such as Scrum, XP and Kanban
Must have recognized education in agile processes, certifications preferred
Must have been a member of an agile team for at least 2 years
Able to lead a team to make realistic and achievable delivery commitments
Practical experience improving team velocity
Understand agile metrics and reporting techniques
Experience to explain and promote agile engineering practices such as pair programming, continuous delivery, TDD, BDD and refactoring preferred
Experience using Jira to track and make visible sprint backlog work flow preferred
Confortable working in a matrix environment with many dependent teams
Experience in mobile application development preferred
